Unveiling the new and improved Lace’Em Up’s website and Logo

We’re excited to announce that our new and improved website is live. We have rebranded with a new logo and color scheme that reinforce our mission in a caring, supportive, and youthful way. The updated website improves accessibility and compatibility, allowing for an enhanced user experience, improved navigation, and updated content. With our new website, we strive to increase our reach across Canada in order to help as many children as possible.

Lace’em Up is thankful to the hard-working team at Versett for the designing the website and new logo.

Announcing new partnership with Hockey Canada Foundation

The Lace’Em Up Foundation for Kids is excited and honored to be partnering with the Hockey Canada Foundation (“HCF”). Together, we will create more opportunities for Canadian youth to play hockey.  HCF’s main mission is to preserve, nurture, and strengthen the bond between Canada and hockey. Through our “Lace’Em Up Hockey Registration Grant” and “Hockey Summer Camp” programs, we strive to unite Canada through hockey and enforce HCF’s three main principles: enable, engage, and educate.

We are thankful and grateful to the board of directors and management team of the Hockey Canada Foundation for their partnership and generous donation which will further help our endeavours across Canada.

2019 Year in Review

2019 was our best year on record. We saw the number of approved grants grow from 802 to 901. The 901 kids we helped in 2019 is a large jump from the four we helped in our inaugural funding season in 2014. The majority of the growth occurred due to the further strengthening of our brand and awareness in communities across Canada. Hockey associations across the nation have put a spotlight onto our organization as a trusted provider of grant funds, joining other sports charities such as Jumpstart and Kidsport.

2018 Year in Review

2018 was our best year on record. We saw the number of approved grants grow from 229 to 802. The majority of the growth occurred due to the fact that a major Canadian sport charity started highlighting our initiative to prospective families whose children wanted to play hockey. This allowed our national reach to expand and the number of unique hockey associations that we helped children participate in grow from 83 to 248.

A successful 2018 summer camp for our youth

In the summer of 2018, the Lace’em Up Foundation for Kids along with Danielle Goyette, an alumni of the Canadian Women’s national team and two time Olympic gold medalist, and the University of Calgary women’s hockey team ran a two day hockey skills camp for children who had been approved for hockey registration grants in 2018. In all, we had 39 kids participate across two days and it was a great success. The Lace’em Up Foundation, with the experience gained from the 2018 camp, looks forward to potentially hosting more hockey camps in Calgary and other cities in the future.
